From Unison to Fredericksburg

From the Mosby Heritage Area Association:

On November 2, 2012 Frank O’Reilly, the noted author and Chief Historian at the Fredericksburg-Spotsylvania National Military Park, will speak on events occurring in Loudoun County on November 1-3, 1862, following the Battle of Antietam in September 1862.  Mr. O’Reilly’s talk will focus on the action at Unison and how this led to the fierce fighting in Fredericksburg in December 1862.

The talk will be given on the 150th anniversary of the November 2, 1862, engagement at Unison in the Unison United Methodist Church (21148 Unison Road, Middleburg, Virginia 20117), which was used as a field hospital during the battle. The church has preserved graffiti left by the soldiers treated in the church when it was used as a hospital during the Civil War.

Tickets for this fundraising event of the Mosby Heritage Area Association are:

$35 for MHAA members
$45 for non-members.
